Finally, after 3 long/late days and nights filled with trips to the hospital and various orthopedic and pediatric specialists, we got an official answer for the question: “what’s wrong with Elly’s leg?” In short, its broken. Pediatric orthopedic doc today said “Ok, something’s wrong – I just need to be smart enough to figure out what it is.” Um, yes you do sir. He took *more* sets of x-rays and it was clear as (inverse) day. Her tibia has about a 2cm hairline fracture at the bottom of the bone, and thats why she had been unable to put any weight on that leg. Right away, they casted her up (hot pink w00t!) and sent us packing. I’ll post pics later…
