and more importantly, what the fuck made him it feel like he was the one who could attempt to cover KNOCKIN’ DA BOOTS by H-Town. debauchery.
so does this…
make me that old dooshbag bitching about the younger crowd and their futile attempts at making cover songs out of my classic shit? yis.
suggest the r&b slowjamz universe (of which i semi-seasonally partake in) is pretty much saying - oh shit, we’re all out new words to sing about humpin’ and flowers and stuff; guess we gotta dig through the 90s crates again. yis. boo.
sell me on the r&b season ending as soon as it started? yis. r&b is about to be stupider than most of you already think it is anyway - rad b/c all the songs are classics, just ax-murdered by people named “pretty” something. yeah, it’s “pretty” dumb.
oh and yeah, this is undoubtedly classic drza-fashioned judgement of an entire genre by one item within it.
So I made the mistake of wondering what Edward Nelson Hughes had been up to while JQuery-ing some dnb as usual on Thursdays (via BassJunkees Subloco, Subversive & crew..) - and low and behold, I asked him only to receive the photo below as my answer. Not only did this take me for a spin down ‘Those were the days’ Lane, I completely lost all concentration powered by a serious roflcopter attack.
ok ok. yet again i’ve psycho-latched onto another high school powered pop anthem band’s album. Typical me being a sweethearted sissy one day, raver scum the next, violent screamo-core bleeder the following, etc. what i did notice, and have decided to use as an excuse that i think they’re super cool or whatever, is that the lead vocal several places throughout the album reminds me of one of my favorite records of all time.
Ok so I caught this big boy dnb chune on Bassdrive called Skyhook - I think by a cat who goes by the name Inside Info. Farking STORMING! Evil robot sounds and all the womp womp deliciousness that I thrive on. BUT I CAN’T FIND IT ANYWHERE ON THE NET. PLEASE HELP!!
As if anyone ever actually reads this, perhaps aside from my extra personalities. Just in case someone else’s google search for “Skyhook” and “Inside Info” (or whatever I kept trying) landed them here, maybe they can let me know how to find this track. I got the itch for that robo-womp. Thanx for help, or at least after reading this get something out of it and go here -> www.bassdrive.com or dig it up on your favorite internet radio player.
Knowing that I have to be up in two and a half hours has managed to effectively prevent from sleeping, rad. I pseudo-urban-stumbled onto this ‘response’ remix and I’m either sleep drunk or a pharmaceutically affectionate r and b fan trapped in a white boy’s body.. nuff talk, I always did sorta dig Jojo anyway, there I said it. Click it, get your groove on, be creepy - or dance or whatever. I’m looping this joint until wake up time, and grinning pretty big about it….
Pretty nifty home theater pimpage mods.. My long-time friend is now in the mix with these cats, (check it -> Acoustical Solutions) so I chopped out the product promo/namedrops/etc. using Jumpcut, a killer web-based, community-powered video editor.
Since the addition/enhancement of the scrobbLer to Last.fm (which I wasn’t really blown away by for its first few years) has hooked me back on team social farking everything. And I have yet another set of my dual-polar attributes trackable on the world wide interweb, being my ubermanic daily life soundtrack selections, playlists, counts, yada yada. Two point omfg, w00t etc. Yet again, I say something sucks loud and proud and start the “Drew hates _______ Club” or whatever. 2 years later, there I am front and center - on my *wordpress* site - wearing my *new era flathat* - working a *dayjob* - and still gobbling it up.
