SynergyKM (mac) and Synergy
after a short bit of google digging in the hunt for something cool than buying any additional hardware (aka a multi-platform dual-dvi usb KVMP). Ideally I’d still like to utilize 3 monitors total without the need to lose screen real estate of my 3rd monitor, currently devoted only to the pc so that it doesn’t ever take away from stuff i have up on my powermac - the long story short is this:
if you want to control multiple machines in one room, mac os_x/xp or vista/nerdy linux flavors/ubuntu - here’s the rig to use.
Synergy2 (an open-source KM controller server/client) and/or SynergyKM (an os x GUI wrapper (cocoa) for Synergy2 to avoid compiling, tidied nicely into a pretty system preference pane)
i also tested QuickSynergy, but i like the pref-pane handiness and configuration options of SynergyKM a bit better.
Results, it worked - tested running the SynergyKM server on my macbook pro and Synergy2 1.3.1 client running on a dell pc with vista. whooohooo! i, yet again, have managed to make some internet stuff work that most web dorks moved on 6 months to a year ago. i’ll take it, i’m drinking beer!

so my saturday was consumed by construction of a (nearly finished) wiimote whiteboard (wiimoteproject.com/).com) infrared light pen. i’m pretty much a soldering rookie, so i’ll face that monster later this week. i must drilling a highlighter and managing to install the ir bulb was quite a feat for me, so upon completion it’ll be experience points either way.
if i another rap song with little wayne’s squirrelly stupid voice in it, i swear i’ll jump. off a building. settle down with sounding ridiculous guy.
the new gig is rad. 2 weeks deep, i think its about to get bizzy up in here. bring on the schedule, drza awaits.

Not much to say here, and fact I don’t really even use Firefox since the dawn of Flock - nevertheless, quite awesome death to IE propaganda. I sorta wish there was a big dusty number 6 beside the e icon, but I’ll take it.

Richmond, Carnies, Clowns, and Nana’s Upcoming Interweb Venture
Back for another long weekend at Nana and Pop’s in RVA - near certain more wii playing, late night computering, babysitting and legend porters - tough to beat that setup.
Tomorrow, the Big Top! Ringling Bruh-vahs, Barnum, Bailey, and all those homies and lions and a ringmaster and elephants and giraffes and trapeze gangstas and tightrope winstons and carnies and things! Won’t be quite as relaxing of a day, but will be super fun for the 2/3 offspringers. I’ll try to post creepy carnie photos for visual reinforcement of my morning’s havoc attack. By the way, drew hearts clowns? Wait, sorry i remember => DREW HATES CLOWNS! So in the wake (no pun intended, you know who you are) of some heavy duty oncoming work and/or life changes and the conversations I had today actualizing them, I’ll just drop myself into a large media cylinder filled to the brim with social anxiety and farking clowns. Ack, begone.
On to uplifting tidbits of a grandmother’s never-too-late-in-the-game internet plot and scheme to flip some coin. Me + a few Legend Porters and Star Hill Ambers get the unquestionable assist. I got on the “there are new bloggers popping up every day, spitting out some decent content and bringin’ down a few hundred extra duckets a month” tip. I do this quite often, but guess what? I got one, she’s in! It pretty much is going to be a daily post about what cool shit a really cool grandparent finds to spoil their grandkid(s) with, which in theory gobbles up quite a bit of precious time, especially when their grandkids aren’t anywhere nearby spilling some dark purple shit on their high dollar imported rug.
